Discover Darts Farm: Where the Best of Devon Comes Together

Nestled on the banks of the River Clyst, just outside Topsham in Devon, Darts Farm is far more than a farm shop. It began as a “pick your own” business back in 1971, and I still remember going there as a child to pick strawberries with my mum and dad. These days, it’s grown into an award-winning food and lifestyle destination that keeps its roots firmly in the land and community.

Every morning, the team harvests seasonal fruit and veg from the fields right on-site. You’ll find it all in the food hall alongside artisan cheeses, charcuterie, fresh bread, local wine and craft beers. I visited recently and couldn’t resist picking up one of their pork pies. Honestly, it was to die for. Proper crumbly pastry, perfectly seasoned filling… the kind of thing you think about days later.
Their own herd of Ruby Red Devon cattle graze peacefully on the banks of the River Clyst, just a stone’s throw from the shop, and the master butchers prepare each cut by hand with care and expertise.

What I love about Darts Farm is that there’s always more to discover. There are multiple eateries, including The Yard Restaurant, Cow & Cacao café, The Farm Table, the Fish Shed and the cosy Shack, each pulling from the farm’s produce to create seasonal meals and irresistible snacks. Outside, you’ll find a farm walk and wetlands bird hide offering peaceful moments and wildlife spotting. You can also browse home and garden gifts, explore lifestyle boutiques like Fired Earth or AGA, relax in the Wellness Spa, or recharge with a fresh cut and colour at Energy Hair.
Darts Farm’s picked up plenty of praise over the years, from Farm Retail Awards to mentions in the Good Food Guide and Food Drink Devon Gold. But more importantly, it’s become a firm favourite with locals and a go-to spot for food lovers from all over the region.
